The pandemic hit the yoga community hard. I think I speak for all teachers that felt like a rug had been pulled from under their feet. For most teachers they come into teaching for the passion; the passion to want to give back to others what they have gained so deeply and profoundly through yoga.
At the start of the pandemic there was some hope and very quickly yoga communities mobilised their teachings and communities online. It was a sight to see and something quite surreal to be part of. We were hesitant but tried and pushed through and low and behold online yoga was here to stay. A beautiful gift that a tragic situation brought us. A gift to share this practice even further to the homes and lives of many around the globe, especially for those where centres and ashrams are not accessible.
The Digital Growth Programme led by the East Midlands Business Chamber supported many businesses during this time, I was also lucky enough to come across this programme. I attended a few of the workshops and it really gave me the confidence to embrace technology even further. The programmes annual conference held at the Leicester Marriott Hotel also chose to showcase our yoga community via a series of professional photos and videos. We were very happy that our story was shared via this forum.
