Meditation is widely practiced today to maintain good mental health; you do not have to be religious or spiritual to experience the benefits of meditation. Some of these benefits include a clearer mind, reducing feelings of anxiety and stress and easing high blood pressure. Meditation also promotes relaxation, increased energy levels and kindness to oneself. If you are new to meditation then this small and friendly class is a perfect start for you. The class is open to everyone, so please do come along. The class in a drop-in, therefore no booking is required.
Classes take place every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 6.30pm – 7.30pm at Tesco Extra Community Room, Loughborough , Park Road.
The community room is at the back of the main store. The room is accessed via the main entrance; walk down the main aisle and it is to the right of the photo processing area. The room is self contained and offers a relaxing environment. Refreshments are also offered complimentary by Tesco.
What to expect at the session: The session is based around meditation and often we practice relaxation and conscious breathing to aid us in our meditation practice. Nevertheless you will always be guided with full explanation.
You do not need to wear any particular clothing, just comfortable clothing. During the session we sit on chairs to create a more relaxed experience for everyone. If you would like to sit on the floor please bring your yoga mat and cushion.
The class cost is £5. This rate is subsidised in order to offer it to as many people in the community as possible.
